GIOVANNI PACOR: is a musician, violinist and conductor from Trieste, Italy. During the assignments as musical director, he has always flanked the artistic direction with the music, moving onto general management of great Opera institutions. The experience of Opera Theatre has always led him to have research and education as prime objective when working with new voices in castings, auditions and role research. Always with the goal of giving young talents a possibility to debut, he has instituted the “Opera Studio” in the theatres where he has worked, an extraordinary tool for young artists to live the professional career at the Theatre. Giovanni Pacor has worked with some of the greatest Opera interpreters in the world, from Zubin Mehta to Franco Zeffirelli, to David Garrett to Andrea Bocelli, from Ruggero Raimondo to Leo Nucci and Mariella Devia. His experince within these most important Theatres of Europe – the Arena of Verona, the National Opera of Athens, Carlo Felice of Genoa, Klagenfurt and Spoleto – has always left his own trademark of innovation and modernisation in the Opera World, uniting the Opera tradition to the young music of today to create a bridge between the past and the future. With this in mind, he always favours the modern communication systems and the most advanced technology, uniting this to the selective research of today’s innovative directors with the primary purpose to place and maintain the world of Opera in a modern context and understandable especially by new generations.
